Romantic Apple Orchard Surprise Engagement Ideas From Quebec
Amelia and Nolan met over a decade ago when they worked at rival skate shops in the same city. They now have two young daughters and live in the forest in Quebec. Amelia is a wedding planner and created an “Ethereal Garden” theme for their own wedding day. They requested that guests wear all white or neutrals, had a pink escort wall containing all of her favorite flowers, served a glitter cocktail at the reception bar, perhaps most importantly, booked their dream venue, Le Peaches & Cream, in Quebec for the entire weekend with all of their family.
They trusted ACW Weddings to bring their vision to life. Clean lines and Mid-century Modern elements mixed beautifully with organic, whimsical florals by AM Floral Studio, creating a fresh and inviting space for the couple and their guests.
Because family is so important to them, they made sure to involve the kids in a big way. Amelia did a “first look” with her oldest daughter, and she had her nephew walk her down the aisle. During the ceremony, Amelia and Nolan first exchanged vows with one another, and then also recited vows to their two girls. They had their daughter cut the wedding cake with them, and had a white bouncy castle for the kids to play on after the ceremony.
For the big day, the bride rocked a stunning off-the-shoulder tulle ball gown with lace appliques and custom detachable sleeves. In shades of peach and sage, her bridesmaids’ dresses blended beautifully with the wedding’s design. The groom looked elegant as well in a warm gray suit while his groomsmen kept it more laid back with mix-and-match printed linen shirts.
They served their favorite pizzas for dinner, had a space for guests to set up tents to stay overnight, and everyone danced barefoot in the reception space. It was a beautiful wedding, and all was within Amelia’s pre-planned budget.

Chloe was the true definition of class with her stunning Eva Lendel ceremony gown and Milla Nova reception dress (and a multitude of Jimmy Choos).
Chirs looked equally dapper for the occasion, sporting a classic black tuxedo.
Crisp white linens popped against the brick backdrop where guests joined the happy couple for the reception. Blush and ivory floral centerpieces by Wizz and Wild lined the table while blush tapered candles added to the refined and romantic ambiance.

]]>Chandler and Cailynn’s love story began in 2021 at a camp where they met and started dating long distance until their engagement. At the time, Cailynn lived in Arkansas, while Chandler was attending the University of Georgia. He made the 12-hour drive just to take her on their first date, and from that moment on, the rest was history. When beginning to plan, Cailynn envisioned a wedding with a “South of France” vibe using soft pastels. To do this, Bethany with Hewitt Oaks incorporated decor such as hanging lanterns, greenery, Spanish moss draped over the trees, and exquisite plateware, creating a stunning atmosphere all captured on camera by Taylor Renee Photos.
The couple chose Hewitt Oaks as their venue because it was a place dear to Cailynn’s heart. She had worked there for a summer in 2019 and always dreamed of returning to marry there one day. Hewitt Oaks was more than just a venue—it was the full experience, providing everything from food and flowers to the tent, ceremony, and reception space. Its owners, Bethany and Christopher Hewitt, were a dream team— between Bethany’s design experience and Christopher’s culinary expertise, they truly made magic happen.

Elegant garden wedding in Arkansas in shades of blue, white, and peach
The bride (and her bridesmaids) wore white at this Charleston wedding
Bride Cailynn wore the stunning Megara dress by Amy and Eve. Off-the-shoulder elegance remained timeless with pearl drop earrings and pearl-accented veil.
The bride carried a bouquet by Southern Graces that defined summer floral inspiration. Tulips, roses, and other wildflowers popped in shades of pink, peach, purple, and blue.
The groomsmen – who clearly had a blast! – donned navy-blue suits from The Black Tux with brown leather accents for another timeless look.
Floral installations by Southern Graces completed and became one with the Spanish moss that surrounded Cailynn and Chandler as they said, “I do.” Baby’s breath climbed tree branches, while blue hydrangeas provided a timeless yet summery pop of color.

For the reception, floral lampshades floated above matching table runners, complemented by flowing greenery, pops of pink, and plenty of garden-inspired flatware. A clear tent helped blend the decor seamlessly into the natural setting.
For dessert, the couple celebrated with a strawberry champagne-flavored cake, adorned with white frosting and floral accents flowing from the bottom tier, adding a sweet, elegant touch.
The most surprising bit of decor was the floating lampshades that brought a whimsical yet floral design to the long dining tables.
Their wedding was especially memorable because of the people who filled it with love and joy. It was obvious that every guest and vendor meant the world to Cailynn and Chandler. Laughter echoed throughout the day, lighting up the venue with happiness. The dance floor turned into a lively, hour-long mosh pit—complete with spilled drinks, sweat, and so many smiling faces thanks to DJ Trey Entertainment.

Hailey, the lead planner and heart of Detailed Touch Events brought her stunning vision to Sacred Oaks in Camp Lucy, Dripping Springs, Texas. The design celebrated nature’s beauty intertwined with luxurious design. It was not just set against the serene backdrop of ancient oak trees, but it harmonized with it, creating a tranquil and captivating atmosphere. Every detail was carefully curated to blend the organic with lush, elegant details, enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Your first impression starts with your wedding invitation suite. It gets your guests excited about what is to come and helps set the vibe for your big day. This team used the opportunity to incorporate their sage and ivory color palette and added custom details like the floral motif to evoke the garden vibes. This is also a perfect example of a thoughtful welcome basket. When your guests are arriving from out of town, it’s always a good idea to have something sweet, savory, and, of course, hydrating (bonus points if you source from local artisans).
The florals, designed by Emily Kaye Floral, were pivotal in bringing the vision to life. The bride’s bouquet, a classic arrangement of soft white blooms like roses and ranunculus, interspersed with lush greenery, echoed the shoot’s theme of organic elegance. The tablescapes featured botanical-patterned linens paired with delicate glassware and dinnerware, creating a sophisticated yet inviting ambiance that harmonized with the surroundings.
The bridal gown by Enaura’s Bridal, with its delicate design and timeless elegance, perfectly complemented the natural setting with the sophisticated yet classic design.
From the thoughtfully designed escort wall by Design to Flourish, completed with Em Paper’s refined escort cards, to the lush florals framing every scene, this shoot at Sacred Oaks was an ode to the beauty that arises when nature and elegance join organically.
The cake by Lilac Sugar Cakes stood tall amidst the flowers surrounding it. Its minimalist design, adorned with cascading white sugar flowers, embodied the essence of the shoot’s theme—natural beauty enhanced by luxurious details.

Sometimes love works in mysterious ways, bringing two people together who were always meant to find each other. For Megan and Landon McAllister, their love story is a perfect example of what Taylor Swift fans would call an “invisible string theory” moment. Despite attending the same schools since middle school and even running on the same cross-country team, their paths never quite crossed until one fateful Christmas break. Thanks to the modern matchmaker known as Snapchat’s location feature, Landon spotted Megan was in town and reached out. Though their first attempt at connection didn’t quite stick (Megan admits to ghosting him due to his less-than-stellar conversation skills), fate wasn’t finished with them yet.
“Fast forward to the next October and he messaged me again, but this time he was doing much better,” Megan recalls with a laugh. Their first meeting involved a midnight drive and a leap of faith that would change their lives forever. “I almost didn’t go but surely enough I rolled into Connors State College around midnight and everything felt so right. It was love virtually immediately.”
The proposal took place at the picturesque Lake Bistineau State Park, where Spanish moss and wildflowers created the perfect backdrop. “I knew what was happening or what was supposed to be happening, but then we were walking around so long that I thought he was faking me out,” Megan shares. Just as she was about to head back to the car, Landon called her to turn around, and there he was, down on one knee.
Starting with the venue, Sassafras Springs Vineyard, this couple decided on a timeless wedding design. Voluminous blue and white floral centerpieces complemented mix-and-match vintage chinoiserie plates, giving the whole event the warm and inviting feel of a Southern tea party.
The newlyweds celebrated their honeymoon in the vibrant city of New Orleans, staying at the historic Hotel Monteleone. Their days were filled with the perfect blend of history, food, and music, from beignets at Cafe du Monde to romantic strolls through the Garden District. “I’m a history nerd and Landon is a little bit of a foodie so it was the perfect place for us,” Megan explains. They immersed themselves in everything NOLA had to offer, from the famous Carousel Bar to hidden gems like M.S. Rau, creating memories they still fondly reminisce about.
Fan favors greeted guests as they took their seats for the garden ceremony. Whether it’s fans or parasols, we always recommend giving your guests something to help beat the heat, especially in the summer months.
Their wedding day was everything they hoped for and more, with a team of incredible vendors bringing their vision to life. One standout element was the stunning floral arrangements by Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio that left everyone in awe. “Our flowers were all the rave!” Megan exclaims. “When Althea Wiles and her team delivered them that morning I was in awe. I was running and so busy but when I saw them it just made everything stop for me.” The couple cherished their private moment together before the ceremony, with Megan describing it as feeling “literally like heaven.” The walk down the aisle and the emotions following the ceremony created memories they’ll treasure forever.
The floral motif on Megan’s romantic A-line lace gown fit the garden setting perfectly! Her bridesmaids’ dresses also helped contribute to the overall feel of the wedding picking up the pastel blue in the color palette. Landon and his groomsmen also played into the blue theme with azure-hued three-piece suits.
No wedding story is complete without a few funny moments, and the McAllisters’ big day delivered. In a post-reception adventure, Landon found himself cleaning spilled black beans from their car at 1 AM–a moment that became an unexpected source of laughter for the wedding party. Then there’s the tale of the beloved giant cookie cake, which became one bridesmaid’s prized possession when the couple gifted it to her after the wedding. “One of my bridesmaids doesn’t like cake but loves cookie cake so we always joked that Landon’s groom’s cake was a cookie cake just for her,” Megan shares. The dedication to this sweet treat was so strong that a groomsman drove thirty minutes just to deliver it to the bridesmaid who had accidentally left it behind.
For couples planning their own wedding, Megan offers this sage advice, “Decide what is important to you and hone in on that. Always weigh what is more important and what you want vs. what others want. Do what’s best for you.” From their serendipitous meeting to their perfect wedding day and beyond, Megan and Landon’s story proves that sometimes the best love stories are the ones that take their time unfolding, with a few detours, some spilled black beans, and plenty of cookie cake along the way.

]]>The post A sage green and tomato-inspired shoot for elegantly edgy brides appeared first on Weddingchicks.
]]>Inspired by the ethereal beauty of a romantic sage tulle gown, this shoot crafted by The Maxwell used editorial-style photography by Ellie McKinney Photography to highlight the modernized charm of the European countryside. Moving beyond the boundaries of a typical wedding, Alexandra blended modern and rustic in a way that created an elevated experience, complemented by unique food and beverage offerings. As an ode to traditional alfresco celebrations, it was impossible not to feel as though guests were stepping into a quintessentially European event, complete with luxurious wildflowers and garden-inspired elements. As the visionary behind the shoot, Alexandra coordinated a team of talented vendors and curated what became a luxurious, creative, and collaborative wedding experience.
The Maxwell provided the perfect setting for this organic, al fresco celebration. The ambiance was chic and Vogue-inspired, with a touch of whimsy that added an element of playfulness to the scene. Effortlessly welcoming, the venue created an intimate atmosphere where every detail felt carefully curated yet natural thanks to lush greenery and vibrant tomato accents.
The intention for hair and makeup was for it to be soft yet glamorous, so finding the balance between bridal and editorial was important. Wedded Kiss highlighted the bride’s natural hair by making her gorgeous curls a centerpiece of the styling. Individual sections were pinned organically so that it looks purposefully undone. Her skincare was radiant and sun-kissed with a pop of lip color to match the European-inspired ambiance.
The Maxwell team was very much inspired over the course of the shoot by the sage green “Le Lilac” gown by Hera Couture. The over-the-top gown had layer after layer of hand-cut and hand-sewn tulle floating in cascading tiers. The V-shaped bodice and back had beautifully draped hand ruching with a built-in corset for the perfect fit.
For the outdoor ceremony, tomatoes were once again incorporated subtly into the flower boxes by Mood Fleuriste, while guests were protected from the sun by elegant white outdoor umbrellas that blended into the staging.

The color palette for the day’s design featured sage greens, deep reds, and a touch of rosemary to evoke the warmth and authenticity of European landscapes. Mood Fleuriste‘s tagline is: “Creating joyful events through sculptural and unique floral art,” so she was excited to get right to work using this organic palette. Mood Fleuriste chose to incorporate organic greens and vibrant tomatoes into deconstructed free-form arrangements, giving the event a fresh-from-the-garden feel. The tomatoes added an unexpected pop of color and sense of whimsy that was present throughout each element of the shoot.
Photographer Ellie McKinney embraced the al fresco ambiance of the event and played with natural light to accentuate the garden-inspired setting and capture the elevated beauty of the design.
Signage included a soft sage green sign with airy script lettering. Heirloom tomatoes were incorporated into the menu card for an elegant yet whimsical design.
This shoot introduced a new line of chairs that were perfect for the modern al fresco vibe. They served as a contemporary seating option that seamlessly blended with the more organic elements of the shoot.

White and Greenery Lakeside Wedding With Minimal Decor
Emerald Green And Gold Romantic Garden Wedding Ideas
This wedding was so much fun because the bride is a wedding planner with a rentals and decor, bar, florals, and calligraphy business in Culpeper, VA. She did all the designing and planning leading up and then handed off the details to a day of coordinator to pull it all together so she could relax with her family. Most of the décor came from her showroom. She spent a year carefully curating her favorite group of vendors who were absolute rockstars on the big day!
Ian’s family booked Spotswood Lodge for his family to stay at for the weekend and Jes booked Boxwood Villa for her family and bridesmaids. Both were the perfect backdrops for getting ready. Wise Films absolutely killed it making it to all three locations to capture the coolest videos from start to finish. Their talent is out of this world. Kristen Camielle Photography has shot all Jes’s company shoots so having her there for this day felt like having a best friend and family capturing one of their biggest life moments. Her vibe is immaculate.
Jes’s mom, Morie, is the floral designer for Bride and Joy so Leroy French Flowers graciously allowed her to design and create Jes’s bridal bouquet as well as the boutonnieres for the groom and Father of the Bride. It was so special for Jes to carry a bouquet made by her mom.
The ceremony was centered around the GORGEOUS tree in the Half Moon Garden. Ian was the one to choose the ceremony location (since Grelen has multiple options) and wanted this spot because it felt cozy and intimate. Leroy French Flowers lined the aisles with stunning ground arrangements. A flower petal bar was nearby for guests to gather petals to throw when the bride and groom walked back down the aisle. The ceremony was officiated by Mike who is like a second dad and good friend of both the bride and groom. They wrote their own vows and were NOT expecting their guests to feel so emotionally connected. They got so many sweet words after the wedding about how special the vows were.
Guests then made their way to the clear top tent. At the entrance, two walls held mini apothecary bottles with a shot to get the party started. When Jes and Ian sent out their invitations, they had their guests check whether they wanted their shot with or without alcohol. After finding the bottle with their name and table number, guests found their seats.
Each table “number” was a photo and location that Jes and Ian had visited together. Jes felt like numbering the tables sometimes makes guests feel bad if they’re the last table so labeling them with locations made everyone feel special! The couple chose a family-style meal to encourage the sharing and breaking of bread. Ian and Jes didn’t want to do a traditional cake cutting so instead they had homemade ice cream served by Market at Grelen as well as churros from Classic Catering.

This Bride Planned a Delicate French Wedding in Shades of Peach
Imagine Events chose the color of the year, peach, and worked with it in all these shades, pairing it with sage green. The color palette was full of life and sweetness at the same time.
In an idyllic setting in the heart of Franche-Comté in France, the Bournel estate is a 19th-century neo-Gothic castle. An estate full of charm, with French gardens and a golf course, surrounded by nature, set in a magnificent English-style park.
The wedding dress was custom-made by LL Couture. The designer was inspired by the three key moments of the wedding and created this 3-in-1 mermaid gown with an overskirt and a removable long-sleeved floral lace top. These detachable elements allow the bride to easily change her look for every important moment of the wedding. The look can also be further transformed by switching out the hairstyle and jewelry.
Bomdia Design wanted the flowers to blend perfectly with the location, so we chose flowers that suited a French garden. For the decor, we used antique golden candlesticks and old keys as escort cards to play on the vintage style of the castle and positioned the tables in a half-round configuration to add a touch of modernity that suited the rounded courtyard. The choice of tableware and color palette added a touch of freshness and softness to the entire decoration.
To add to the whimsical design, Gourmandi Ose created a towering abstract cake with a levitating tier and sculptural sugarwork. The cake was displayed on a modern gold stand and got its very own floral arrangement.

Pastel Wedding Weekend at a French Château Where East Meets West
Audrey and Jon’s love story was 9 years in the making. They met in 2015 at their high school in South Jersey. Years later they would move to Philadelphia to begin their new lives together. The only thing they love more than being with each other, traveling to new restaurants, hiking, and exercising together is their sweet dog Leo, a gorgeous husky whom they adopted together. One day when they were taking Leo to one of their favorite trails for a walk, Jon decided it was time to take this high school love story and begin their forever story together as husband and wife. He had a picnic set up at the end of their trail walk. Jon knew Audrey didn’t suspect that this was the day he would propose based on the workout attire and the look of shock on her face. Of course, she said, “Yes!” and so the planning began!
They wanted to share their new home, Philadelphia, with their closest friends and family. So when they found Glen Foerd on the Delaware it was the perfect place to have their intimate, colorful, garden party dream wedding.
Audrey wanted to include all of the colors that a true wildflower garden has. Her florist Vine and Oak went above and beyond with the most dreamy bouquet, ceremony arch, and every other detail you can imagine! She brought in peach and blush colored seating pieces which she surprised Audrey with in the bridal suite upstairs for some incredible getting-ready portraits!
Keeping with the whimsical and playful look of their bouquets the ladies each wore their own unique dresses in shades of pastel pink that fit into the romantic garden aesthetic. Audrey’s timeless gown by Miss Scarlett paired perfectly with gloves she wore from BHLDN. The look of absolute awe and excitement on Jon’s face when he saw Audrey that day matched the look of excitement Audrey wore the day he proposed.
With the gentle rush of the Deleware in the background, guests made their way down the great lawn for the ceremony. Framed by the pastel-hued floral arbor, the two exchanged their vows in front of their closest family and friends.
In keeping with their floral theme, they had a custom escort wall constructed with their initials at the top and guests were instructed to find their table assignments on blush-colored placards nestled between adorable bud vase arrangments.
A simple yet elegant three-tiered buttercream cake was embellished with fresh flowers. And the flavor? Strawberries and cream. The couple could have never guessed when they picked the flavor, just how appropriate it would end up being! Keep scrolling to find out why…
Later that evening we were graced with a “Strawberry Moon”. This only takes place once in a while in June and it just so happens that this took place on the MOB’s wedding day too. Her mother shared this story with me as her eyes were filled with tears of joy. She knew that this was a sign of many years of happiness to come and that this moment, a day that was almost a dream, was just the beginning of a love story that would be just as magical as this moment in time.

The Couple Drove Off in a Golf Cart at their NJ Country Club Wedding
William and Hannah met in 2018 when Hannah was a senior at the College of Charleston, and William was a third-year med student at MUSC. Hannah’s sorority house mom, who was in William’s med school class, introduced them on a night out. Although they didn’t stay in touch immediately, Charleston’s small size led them to cross paths again a few months later. In 2020, William completed med school and matched into a residency in Columbia, SC. Hannah joined him there after being accepted into PA school at USC. They managed a few months of long-distance before moving back to Charleston. In April 2023 William proposed. His family came under the pretense of visiting for the Bridge Run, echoing their initial meeting four years earlier. After the run, they had lunch, and William proposed on a dock at Shem Creek. Despite it being April Fool’s Day, William assured Hannah that it was not a joke. They celebrated with a gathering at Hannah’s parents’ house with their closest friends and family.
Guests were greeted with adorable illustrated wedding programs that featured a lovely poem outlining everything that was to come.
In true Southern style, the ladies sipped champagne on the porch as they lounged in matching pajamas and took turns getting glammed up for the big day.
The bride looked modern and elegant in a crisp crepe gown with a high neckline and dramatic 3-D lace detailing on the shoulders and the illusion back. The groom was timeless in a black tuxedo, complete with black bowtie.
We’ve seen mix-and-match bridesmaids before, but we love just how far these bridesmaids took it. They definitely understood the assignment, each sporting a different colored voluminous maxi dress for the occasion.
Hannah wore a family necklace from the 1860s, a tradition for the women in her family. The necklace was originally a wedding gift to her great-great-great-grandmother, Georgia Hannah Bryan, after whom Hannah is named.
William’s Jewish heritage was honored with traditions such as the hora, breaking of the glass, and reading the seven Jewish blessings.
For their wedding, Hannah and William wanted to ensure everyone had a great time from the start. They provided Miller High Life ponies, known as “the champagne of beer,” alongside champagne to kick off the celebration. Instead of a traditional cake, they served Jeni’s ice cream, reflecting their shared love for the treat.
The market basket floral trend is gaining steam and we hope it’s here to stay. Not only is it a more economical option when it comes to floral styling, it just looks so dang cute! We love that Willow Event Designs used a variety of wicker baskets to add depth to this design for the ceremony.
We don’t often feature wedding guests, but for this wedding, there were just TOO MANY well-dressed guests that they simply needed their own feature. From bright green frocks to billowing pink pleated numbers, this crowd got the memo and we’re in LOVE!
After the ceremony, guests made their way to a gorgeous outdoor tented reception. Designed by Stunning and Brilliant Events, modern gold chandeliers and pastel tapered candles lit the space as the sun ducked below the horizon. Pastel blooms in bud vases added a rainbow of color to each table.
Their first dance was to “Music for a Sushi Restaurant” by Harry Styles. The two attended a Harry Styles concert in London and share a love for sushi, so it made for a fun and personal choice for their first dance.
William’s passion for fixing up golf carts was showcased in their wedding getaway: they departed in a club car golf cart, and they handed out custom hats with “Debordieu Cruising Club” to guests, who eagerly tried to buy them from each other.
