Nathan and Ashley grew up together in Northwest Arkansas and were high school friends. They spent three and a half years doing long-distance while Nathan was stationed at Fort Liberty and Ashley finished her nursing degree at Missouri Southern. Even though being apart was tough, their relationship stayed strong through it all. Finally, when Ashley graduated and Nathan’s service allowed, they were thrilled to reunite and get married!

a unique venue

modern wedding venue in arkansas

Ashley and Nathan had the most beautiful wedding at Crystal Bridges Art Museum. Everything was very classy with a slight vintage and Italian feel. The vision was “modern upscale Italian”. We wanted the reception space to be vintage and luxurious at the same time. Jessica from JLK Weddings created a space that met all of these expectations. Unique crystal table lamps were used to set the head table apart and there was glassware galore to reflect the intimate low lighting within the venue.

This was my first wedding at Crystal Bridges and it blew me out of the water. Everything about this day was extravagant! Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art not only houses paintings from some of the most iconic artists like Andy Warhol but it doubles as a wedding venue. This museum sits on 120 acres in the heart of Bentonville, Arkansas. The Ceremony was held in the Modern Contemporary Gallery underneath the Dale Chihuly icicle chandeliers while the reception was held in the Great Hall designed by Moshe Safdie. The architecture of the Great Hall makes you feel like you are floating on water in a glass oval. It is beautiful.

Ashley wore Christian Louboutin heels that Nathan surprised her with when they got engaged. She looked like a model in her dress and heels. The “Ruby” wedding gown was designed by Netta BenShabu and handmade in Israel, found at Brides by Lola Drè in Jupiter Florida. Nathan and Ashley decided to save their first look for the actual aisle. They wanted the full effect of the built-up wedding day excitement.

Her bouquet was organic, modern, and textured. Cynthia from Ollie Marie’s created a cream monochromatic look with peonies, roses, and pops of greenery. Lots of bud vases and a mixture of high and low, cream-colored floral arrangements placed in gold vases gave the reception that vintage look.

the cakes–PLURAL

heart shaped italian wedding cake

They say go big or go home and that was our goal with our iconic strawberry heart cakes, the larger one being 22″ wide and the smaller 14″. Rick’s Bakery took Ashley’s idea of upscaling the trendy heart cakes and turning them into an unforgettable centerpiece. The cakes were show-stopping but you can’t forget about the tower or cannolis that were also a big part of the wedding dessert table. It further pushed that Italian vibe we were going for.

Art Deco wedding style

Isabelle and Louis-Philippe have been living together for more than 20 years, but their story began nearly 30 years ago. They met in high school and fell in love at 16, becoming each other’s first true love. After they graduated, their paths went in two different directions, but after some time apart, they reconnected and picked up right where they left off! Together, they embarked on their adult lives, starting with an apartment, then moving to a house, welcoming a dog, and eventually having two wonderful children. Ultimately, the couple decided all those years later to officially say “I do,” at the Honeyrose Hotel in Montreal, Canada, captured on camera by Sonia Bourdon Photographe and planned with the help of Osez Dire Oui.

Having lived in Montreal since the beginning of their journey together, Isabelle and Louis-Philippe quickly realized they wanted a special venue that offered a beautiful outdoor space for the big day. With a keen interest in architecture, they sought a location that was both charming and original. After a long search, they stumbled upon the Honeyrose Hotel in Montreal, and it took their breath away! The art deco details were simply stunning, and they really liked that the rain plan was as delightful as the terrace option.

The inspiration for this Leona Morelock Designs shoot came from the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona, drawing in the terracotta tones through the use of candles, florals, stationery, and table accents. A team of incredible vendors came together to create this work-of-art design that featured dark accents perfect for fall. Captured by Jen Creed Creative and Red Rock Wedding Films, this bright summer-into-fall wedding inspiration is an absolute must-see.

Set in a unique venue located in the heart of Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico, our shoot breathes new life into a space that combines historic charm with contemporary flair. Our decor concept, masterfully executed by AO Studio, revolved around a modern tropical theme, utilizing only shades of green to create a lush, verdant atmosphere. AO Studio is renowned for its focus on organic and modern decoration concepts, which allowed us to highlight the natural beauty of the tropical elements while maintaining a sophisticated and cohesive look. The venue, named OCIO, is an ancient building meticulously remodeled to retain its raw, industrial essence. Its exposed concrete walls and rebar arches create a striking, unfinished look that adds authenticity and character to the space. By choosing OCIO, we aimed to showcase how historic places can be transformed into stunning wedding venues, exuding both historical charm and modern sophistication.

A few years later, they moved back to their hometown to purchase their first home together, and that same day, DJ proposed! To this day, the couple lovingly jokes about the day they “closed and proposed,” solidifying their home and future together. Hailey and DJ were married just after their five-year anniversary at Wayland Brewing Company in Buffalo, New York. Sincerely Melissa & Co. assisted with planning the event, while the day was captured on camera by Rachel Maloney Photography.

Choosing your wedding aesthetic can be tough, especially when you’re torn between a timeless, elegant wedding and showing off your bold style. This couple, however, proved that you can have the best of both worlds. Bride Clare knew from the get-go that she wanted to incorporate her multifaceted personality into their big day. While the couple’s day jobs consist of a fast-paced environment working on the same labor and delivery hospital unit, they love to let loose when they’re off the clock. From a romantic ceremony with sentimental touches to their all-out dance party of a reception, this wedding at Whalehead – Historic Corolla Park – planned with the help of Coastyle Events and photographed by Kasey Powell Weddings – had it all!

Lighthearted fun and a disco dance floor

With the majority of their guests working in the medical field, the couple wanted to center their reception around something high stress jobs don’t experience often: lighthearted fun. With disco balls lining the dancefloor, bright pink florals, and syringes infused with cocktails, the bride and groom definitely provided their fellow colleagues with a space to relax and let loose!

Prescribing fun through medical details

Because the bride and groom met while working on the same Labor and Delivery unit, it was natural for them to incorporate some medical details into their wedding day. They named their signature drinks after medical terms and even served Jello shots out of syringes. Their tagline became, “Voted 2023’s Safest Wedding to Go into Labor,” and ironically, the maid of honor was going to be close to 30 weeks pregnant at the wedding!

Advice from one bride to another

Bride Clair shared: “My biggest advice is to choose vendors that take the time to get to know you and your partner, and who understand what it is that YOU want most for your wedding. Not only is it helpful in the beginning when you’re trying to figure out exactly what that is, but it makes all the difference on the wedding day itself. I met with a few vendors in the beginning that were nice and seemed to do a beautiful job, but a big part of why I chose the individuals I did is that I felt like they understood me and my partner as people, and not just as an aesthetic. Having those strong relationships eased so much stress throughout the whole planning process!”

Cape Cod wildflower beach wedding

After meeting while watching the Boston Bruins bring home the Stanley Cup in Game 7 of the finals at a bar in Seaport, Samantha and Bryan made plans to hike the next day, and the rest was history! Four years later, Bryan took Sam to the site of one of their first dates and proposed with the Boston skyline behind them. Afterward, they celebrated with loved ones at their favorite restaurant. To honor their love of the outdoors, Sam and Bryan chose to tie the knot on the upper cape of Massachusetts, incorporating the natural beauty of the bay and the beach surrounding them. Planned with the help of Ever After Weddings, this incredible day hosted at Kalmar Village is a must-see captured on camera by Colton Simmons Photography.

A major change… three days before

Leading up to Sam and Bryan’s wedding, news broke that Hurricane Lee was on a path going right through New England. The governor declared a state of emergency, and just three days before the wedding, Sam and Bryan decided to move their wedding from Saturday to Sunday. When Sunday arrived, the storm passed, and the sun shone brightly on their wedding day!
