The post North Carolina luxury cottage core wedding in shades of neutrals appeared first on Weddingchicks.
]]>Originally from Atlanta, Elena and Will traveled with their guests to Highlands, North Carolina for a wedding in the mountains at the iconic Old Edwards Inn. Planned with the help of Mary Spera of Spera Special Events, the entire day was spent outdoors in the perfect summer breeze, starting with a ceremony under the pergola and ending with a tented reception full of classic, creamy ivory-toned details. The entire day – captured by Capturing WNC – gave Father of the Bride vibes that you’ll have to scroll through and see to believe.
Because their guest list kept growing, Elena and Will decided to change their original plan of saying “I do” in New Orleans and instead have their wedding in Highlands, North Carolina at Old Edwards Inn. Guests enjoyed perfect weather at what turned into an intimate outdoor wedding.
Elena wore a precious A-line ankle-length midi dress that was completed with a white rose bouquet, pearl necklace, and waist length veil to match the dress’s length.
The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner all took place in Piermont Cottage. For the ceremony, Dream Events by Daria placed lush white floral arrangements at the end of each row down the aisle. A pre-existing arbor covered in gorgeous greenery helped create that intimate cottage core theme that the couple was looking for.

The neutral and white color palette carried through the reception with light khaki linens from Professional Party Rentals, gold-rimmed plates, and linear centerpieces made up of clear vases filled with white roses. The cottage element was once again woven throughout with seating cards that featured a bee next to the guest’s calligraphed name.
A casual fire pit off to the side of the reception tent provided a space for small groups to step away, warm up, and hang out.
In keeping with the white and neutral color palette, the cake by Mrs. Sugarbooger was a three-tier, all-white cake featured piped detailing.
The bride and groom love bluegrass music – particularly Billy Strings – so the band Nitrograss fit the bill perfectly. Before they took the stage, however, musician friends of the newlyweds played their first dance song in a beautifully personal and touching moment.
The after party was held next door at The Ugly Dog Pub, where the couple and their guests were able to continue celebrating late into the night.

]]>Crafted by NJOY Events with stunning floral design by Birds of a Flower, this upscale camp-themed fall wedding at Basin Harber Resort in Vermont was a fusion of pastoral charm and refined New England taste. Because bride and groom Jessie and Jake were both former trip leaders, they knew they wanted a more rustic feel for their wedding day. One day Jessie called Jake and said, “Our wedding theme should be Camp Dowling!” The idea tied everything together and provided the perfect opportunity for guests to get to know each other over a weekend of welcome receptions, a golf tournament, and plenty of organized camp games, all captured on camera by Julia Luckett.
Jessie and Jake invited their guests to the event with a camp-inspired invitation suite by Christie Manhattan Beach that included an Adirondack table card, a luggage tag insert, a watercolor map of the campground, and plenty of images that brought back everyone’s fondest memories of summer camp.
Basin Harbor Club matched the rustic camp vibe perfectly and was right down the road from Jessie’s family’s house on Lake Champlain. Because Jake proposed at Basin Harbor in 2022, the couple knew they wanted to share this magical place with all of their friends and family.
Heather of Birds of a Flower really embraced a fall, woodsy theme with the decor and brought the outdoors inside with saplings, fall colored flowers, and greenery decorating each event.
The bride and groom rode off in a Camp Dowling themed golf cart decorated for the day.
Jessie and Jake enjoyed a romantic cruise in a classic cris-craft boat across Lake Champlain following their touching ceremony.

The camp-inspired bar was complete with a classic sampling of wines and liquors and accented by rustic greenery and a wooden font spelling out “Camp Dowling.” The cocktail napkins boasted this same font, creating continuity of the camp theme through cocktail hour and beyond.
Reception design included antique brass candlesticks paired with farmhouse pottery vases overflowing with florals, perfectly accenting Voyager Denim linens accompanied with plaid napkins and wooden chargers.
The newlyweds enjoyed cutting into a camp-themed cake complete with Adirondack chairs and a tiny smores setup.

Kaitlyn and John’s love story started back in high school, though they didn’t meet until years later. A chance encounter at a hometown bar brought their friend groups together, and John’s genuine nature and humor quickly drew Kaitlyn in. Despite a mix-up with phone numbers, they reconnected on Instagram, and their connection grew stronger. John’s commitment was evident when he moved to Connecticut with Kaitlyn while she was in graduate school, waiting until after graduation to propose. In May 2023, amidst the rain, John proposed in the Pennsylvania Hospital Museum Gardens, a place meaningful to Kaitlyn. His romantic gesture, marked by Kaitlyn’s excited exclamation, set the stage for their journey to marriage.
On the wedding day, Kaitlyn prepared at Terrain Gardens at DelVal, surrounded by joy and delicate florals. The latest addition to the Terrain Events family, this venue melds the simplicity of modern design with rustic charm, creating a space that feels effortlessly elevated and laid back.
Kaitlyn’s bridal look, styled by Marina Katko and enhanced by Jen Damminger’s makeup artistry, featured a stunning Willowby by Watters dress and a whimsical pastel bouquet by Design by Terrain.
The private first look was a treasured moment for the couple, filled with nervous excitement and love, made even more special with their mini goldendoodle, Otis, joining for portraits.
The ceremony at Terrain Gardens at DelVal was a dream, with pastel florals by Design by Terrain and elegant decor creating a magical atmosphere.

Vibrant Hindu Wedding On The West Coast
On the eve of their wedding, Meredith and Abhinav hosted a festive welcome party for their loved ones to kick off their celebratory weekend. Wanting to celebrate Abhinav’s Indian heritage and welcome guests to Meredith’s family ranch in Texas, the couple embraced an Indian-Western fusion theme that paired paisley details with a bright color palette of celadon green, pink, orange, and yellow. The couple loved seeing their friends and family walking around the 100-year-old ranch in traditional Indian attire, capturing the essence of joining their cultures in marriage.
Meredith dazzled in a green and red saree next to her soon-to-be husband, who sported a striking black and khaki kurta.
Part of the property was transformed into an elegant lounge space with green draping, luxury rentals, and a custom bar serving signature cocktails that blended Indian and Western flavors (both were crowd favorites!).
This colorful escort card display is such a great idea! They used a vintage cane screen to display custom-printed cards embellished with multicolored tassels from the wedding’s color palette. It’s budget-friendly and packs a nice visual punch. And all the $ you save you can put into a lovely flower installation like this one by Wedfully Yours.
In the barn, the dining space didn’t shy away from its rustic vibe, with bistro lights, candles, and greenery adorning open rafters and columns. The wood walls offered a glimpse into Meredith’s family history with hand-painted mementos for every major event they’ve celebrated at the ranch over the years (including her parents’ wedding!).
Patterned linens dressed long guest tables with small centerpieces of pink, yellow, and red blooms by Wedfully Yours—including marigolds, a traditional flower in Indian weddings. Place settings combined wooden chargers with pink-and-white china, tinted floral glassware, and emerald-and-gold flatware for a polished, elegant look. Guests enjoyed a menu of Indian dishes while listening to a diverse mix of country music and Indian music, along with Meredith and Abhinav’s favorite songs.
But perhaps the favorite element of their wedding was the beer burros! Dressed in whimsical flower crowns and carrying brackets of beer, Spicey and Trixie accepted all the pets and brought an extra joyful touch to the special evenings.

Elegant Texas Toile Micro Wedding
This Texan-Inspired Love Story Will Have You Getting Wed Out West
Our wedding day at La Joya Dulce was an absolute dream come true! This was the first venue we ever toured and we immediately fell in love with it and knew this was the place we wanted to get married. Our wedding day was literally perfect. The guests were greeted by La Joya staff on horseback, along with cocktails and of course, the incredible views.
My bridesmaids and family had a very relaxing morning surrounded by the beauty of Steamboat Springs and La Joya Dulce, getting ready together, sharing gifts, and talking about our love story. My husband and his groomsmen had a blast getting ready in the barn area.
It’s always a good idea to make sure your guests are hydrated for the ceremony, especially when it’s outside. This couple took it one step further and offered guests tequila shots to get everyone in the mood.
Our closest friends and family enjoyed the heartfelt ceremony which encompassed everything we wanted our wedding day to be. I could not have imagined a more beautiful place overlooking the valley to vow my life to the man of my dreams.
After the ceremony, guests made their way indoors for the reception. The Glacier Lily kept the florals chic and understated with a eucalyptus garland and white rose centerpieces. Slices of tree trunks served as chargers and guests received custom camping mugs at each place setting.
We love this champagne toast display wall, especially if you’re planning on a buffet service for the reception dinner.
For the wedding cake, the couple opted for a traditional three-tiered cake with fresh flowers displayed on a wood base to tie it in with the tablescape. And how cute is this sculpted Airstream groom’s cake?!

A Sunset-Inspired San Diego Wedding with Perfect Mix-and-Match Style
A Hillside Backdrop Set the Stage for this Charming SoCal Wedding
This Chic SoCal Wedding Inspiration Is Radiating Classic Ambience
Rizelle and Jimmy eloped several years ago and they are the greatest example of why it is absolutely never too late to throw the wedding of your dreams with all your fave humans (I should know, we did the same thing!). Especially after the tumult of the last few years, witnessing these two unite before all of their community (on Rizelle’s birthday!) was a site to behold. These two chic and classy babes were a perfect pair.
This gorgeous day took place at the loveliest of gardens, you really do feel like you might be in Italy, not Southern California. They focused on sweet and thoughtful decorative details that were so personal to them, and the effect was darling. The dreaminess of Tivoli’s darling white adobe walls and arches, classical gardens, and charming views sure didn’t hurt, either!
Tan, muted tones from sea glass accessories, and touches of blue set the palette for this dessert-toned wedding, which made this garden feel like even more of an oasis. Warm wood tables and farm chairs were accented with organic cloth, hints of gold, and minimalist arrangments in bud vases by Blooms Design House.
The bride wore a simple yet elegant crepe mermaid gown that was perfect for the garden setting, paired with adorable ivory sandals with pearl beading and ribbon ties. She wore her hair down in sleek Old Hollywood-style waves accessorized with a silk flower hairpin and a dramatic cathedral-length veil for the ceremony embellished with matching silk petals. Her ladies were effortlessly chic in breezy satin cocktail dresses in shades of champagne and taupe. Her bridesman rocked the colors in a cool ombré button-down with subtle floral details and gray pants. The groomsmen sported the pop of blue from the color palette while the groom opted for a timeless black tux.
From the welcome sign to the run of the day and the custom cocktail menu, this wedding had a lot of lovely signage. And while they were all slightly different in their displays, the use of a uniform font suite kept everything cohesive.
The groom held back tears as he saw his beautiful bride being escorted down the aisle by her father. The two renewed their vows to each other and likely added in some new promises while their loved ones watched on.
After the day had come and gone, the two made their getaway in a stunning vintage car that is more art than antique.

]]>Emily, exhausted by dating apps, vowed that her date with Grant, whom she had met online, would be her last first date. Little did Emily know that this date would indeed be her last first date ever! For their engagement, Grant hired a photographer and scouted a special proposal location. After a long walk together, he led Emily to the special spot just as a torrential rainstorm (with hail!) swiftly moved in. Once the sky cleared, they made their way back to the spot, where Grant got down on one knee to propose, completely soaked from the weather. Inspired by the concept of wildflowers and honoring Emily’s favorite flower, Grant and Emily’s Nashville wedding at Saint Elle was devoted to the iris. Keep scrolling to see how this wedding of indigos, purples, and yellow accents, planned with the help of W Events and captured by Eden Ingle Photo, came together.
Emily donned a gauzy tulle gown with hairstyling by Harper and Olive and makeup by One10 Beauty House. Her bouquet from Sunburst Florals was full of texture from irises, Gerber daisies, and plenty of wildflowers.
The bridesmaids created the perfect backdrop for the indigo and purple florals by donning the perfect muted sage green tulle dresses from Azazie.
The couple felt it was important to not only create a visual experience for their guests but also be true to their personalities. Because of this, the wedding celebrations took place at Saint Elle, a Nashville event space focused on natural lighting to complement the 1950’s bow truss ceiling design. The indoor ceremony highlighted whimsical floral pillars comprised of irises and lilies of the valley.

Within the rustic dining space rested elegant tablescapes of neutral linens from White Table and exposed wooden tables, surrounded by an abundance of their inspired florals.
Emily and Grant made sure to include their beloved cat as the “signature cocktail” at their stunning wedding bar.
During the reception, Emily changed into a more casual lace maxi dress with flowy sleeves and white Birkenstocks. Grant exchanged his dress shoes for Nike’s and made a unique style choice of his own – going from day to night with his facial hair and shaving his beard into a mustache.
The newly minted bride and groom cut into a gorgeous three-tier cake from Nashville Sweets with draping wildflowers, while Grant had a custom two-tier chocolate groom’s cake with the illusion of dripping chocolate.
High party points of the evening included Grant crowd-surfing to Old Crow Medicine Show’s smash hit, “Wagon Wheel,” and a 2 AM trip to Waffle House. At the end of the night, guests took home jellybeans and mini-Moon Pies – the bride and groom’s favorite treats!

How to Plan a Wedding Without Choosing Traditional Wedding Colors
Lauren and Nick’s al fresco wedding celebration was full of whimsical, organic details. From Lauren’s floral-covered gown and their ceremony under the sun surrounded by wildflowers to their reception full of bold pops of cerulean and tangerine, every moment was perfectly curated by Jenni Grubba Events for the sweetest aesthetic. For proof of the party, Alixann Loosle Photography and Killer Creations captured every single candid moment, ensuring that the magic of the day (and a lot of blackmail content) would be preserved for a lifetime.
Lauren and Nick’s wedding weekend was not your standard. They wanted everyone together for days of action and it was just that. From Healdsburg to Mendo to Westport, the crew bounced around and maximized time together and it was absolutely perfect. The quirky, magical garden party that they ended on at Switzer Farm will forever be etched in the heads and hearts of those who were fortunate enough to join.
Plopped on the picturesque coast of Northern California is Switzer Farm. Lauren and Nick’s wedding in Westport was the seaside celebration of the summer filled with love, laughter, and absolutely unforgettable moments.
Beauty on Set launched the day into action by ensuring that Lauren and her babes looked radiant (and Nick dapper) on their special day.
Lauren stunned in a floral-embellished gown that brought in the blue elements from the rest of the wedding. Nick went for color as well in a deep green suit.
The ceremony took place at the cliffs and Lara Louise’s melodies added an elegant touch to the ceremony and continued through cocktail hour. Our girl’s veil might have gotten stuck in the grasses, and I might have galloped over to rescue her like a crazy antelope, BUT we got them married and the ceremony was hysterical. These two belong together and it freaking shows.
To infuse a bit of their Midwestern roots into the celebration, I packed as many cases of Spotted Cow beer, a Wisconsin fav and only available in WI, into my carry-on as I could drag across the country. It’s the little things…IYKYK.
Max Gill Design, resident flower king of Northern California worked his floral magic everywhere. Hanging florals inside the tent created a breathtaking visual display, blending seamlessly with the coastal charm. Bursting with color and greenery, the tent became a focal point, framing the dance floor and setting the stage for a night of celebration.
When you party this hard, one cake just isn’t enough. So, this couple decided on three cakes for their big day. We love the mod dome design that they chose and the fresh flowers that brought in the rest of the wedding color palette.
Golden Bell Music curated the soundtrack for the evening, seamlessly combining DJ beats and live instruments. As the Mendo night fell, the dance floor transformed into a standard midwestern rager. Our infamous disco clump brought infectious energy to the dance floor. Party lights washed the space in a colorful celebratory glow, while a fog machine added a touch of enchantment (even if it did choke out our sax guy). I am telling you from experience, it ain’t over until it’s over with Wisco peeps.

How To Have An Adventurous Destination Elopement
July 11, 2016, was our first day of the police academy, it was also Nick’s first memory of me. I was trying to stay under the radar as all aim to do in the academy, but immediately failed at doing so. I was, being punished by a death of push-ups. Nick, who was in fact, flying under the radar, looked over to see who was holding up the line; it was little, struggling, me. Instead of seeing the hot mess I was, he just saw, hot (lol). Somehow the instructors paired Nick and me up as arrest control and shooting partners. I instantly had a crush on him-tall, baby blue eyes, and a great personality who that made me laugh. But alas, this was not the time for romantic entanglements, we had a job to do. Nick and I became friends and kept in contact after the academy was over in January. Our first unofficial date was in March of 2017 at Kupros in downtown Sacramento. The unofficial dates continued and gradually turned into official ones. Nick and I became boyfriend and girlfriend on November 19, 2017, the same day he met my family. Our love is strong, playful, passionate, and built on friendship first.
The bride rocked not one, but two gowns for the big day. For the ceremony, she brought the drama with a beautifully draped fit-and-flare strapless gown and a ballet-length veil. Then, to switch things up for the reception, she pulled her hair up into an effortlessly chic updo and donned a slinky beaded gown that was, *chef’s kiss*, perfection!
Note to anyone considering a baby’s breath arch for your wedding, make sure the sun will be just behind it during your ceremony because with this backlighting this arch by Helianthus Floral was literally glowing! Between that and the scattered petal aisle, this neutral ceremony was magic! With the dense woods in the background and the manicured lawn, Chalet View Lodge is also the perfect blend of tamed wilderness for a wedding like this.
After the sunset, the couple and their guests gathered together under twinkle lights for dinner and dancing. The table-length floral garland and blown glass candelabras added romance and intrigue to the neutral-toned tablescape. And if you think it was pretty in the daylight, just wait till you see what it looked like at night…
