Developing a Map Management Tool for Commercial Centers
We recently had the opportunity to develop a map management tool for one of our esteemed Australian clients. The primary objective of this project was to create a tool that could effectively read sensors installed in numerous commercial centers across the country.
To ensure the well-being and comfort of visitors, most shopping malls are equipped with a variety of sensors, predominantly temperature and air flow transducers. These sensors play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the air conditioning systems (HVAC / AHU). However, with a large amount of data generated by these sensors, we realized the need for a comprehensive mapping tool.
Our main challenge was to design an application that would be exceptionally user-friendly. We focused on incorporating essential features such as 2D/3D interactive maps, multi-layer functionality, multi-tenancy support, seamless integration with the robust Building Management Software Niagara4, and compatibility with the popular geoJSON mapping format.
To bring our vision to life, we opted to leverage our favorite technology stack, VueJS and Laravel. These frameworks allowed us to develop a powerful, scalable, and efficient solution. Additionally, for optimal 3D mapping performance, we employed the widely recognized three.js library, which provided a reliable WebGL map rendering capability.
The end result of our efforts was a remarkable map management tool that catered to our client's specific needs. With its intuitive interface and advanced features, our tool enabled the visualization and analysis of sensor data in commercial centers across Australia. Not only did this enhance operational efficiency and maintenance, but it also contributed to the overall comfort and satisfaction of visitors.
